What Is DECA?
DECA is an international student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
At Timberland, DECA gives students the opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-world business situations. Students complete a semester long project, alone or with a partner, where they research, develop, and present solutions to realistic business problems. These projects are then judged at competitive events including districts, state, and international levels.
DECA focuses on building practical skills such as public speaking, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and professionalism-skills that are valuable in any career path.
